Ryan Villopoto wins in San Diego

Vans Moto Athlete Ryan Villopoto takes the win in San Diego, CA this past Saturday night and cruises into next weekends race with the red number plate once again with a six point lead over second place in the Monster Energy AMA/FIM Supercross Series! RV said he really enjoyed the track this weekend like many other riders but the start is where it is at. Villopoto got a great jump off the line and found himself in second place as they rounded the first turn, by the second corner Ryan lead 18 of 20 laps. Lap 18 Chad Reed made a pass on RV for the lead, RV made his move right away for a clean pass on Reed on the last lap for the checkered flag!

In the West Coast 250 class Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit athlete Dean Wilson took the win and the points lead back! Deano was on fire all day with the fastest lap times and smooth flowing style. Dean said this was the break he was looking for and really had a awesome time with the track setup for this weekend in San Diego!

Tyla Rattray injury update

Vans Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Tyla Rattray was injured during his heat race at the Oakland round of the Monster Energy Supercross. Rattray was unable to race the remainder of the evening due to his injury.

Upon further evaluation by his physician, it has been determined that Rattray suffered a concussion and a fracture to his C7 vertebrae. He will be recuperating for the next few weeks, at which time his injuries will be re-evaluated. The team will make another announcement about his recovery at that time.

"I’m really bummed out about my injury,” said Rattray, “but I’m very thankful that it didn’t end up worse. I just want to thank everyone for their tremendous support. Hopefully I’ll be back soon."

Vans wishes Tyla Rattray a speedy recovery

Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit Athlete Tyla Rattray was injured at this past weekends Oakland, CA Supercross race.
Tyla hit a tough block that was pushed out into the track which ejected him from his motorcycle knocking him out. Tyla was rushed to the hospital for further examination where they found a factured C-7 in his neck.
Tyla is in good spirits just a bit banged up from this crash and is looking to make a full recovery soon!

Dodger SX brings rain and bad luck.

Vans Monster Energy Kawasaki's Jake Weimer showed great speed these past few weekends with amazing start's and good endurance. Once the gate dropped in the main event Weimer found himself leading the race for 9 laps before it was taken away from him by an aggresive move put on by racer James Stewart, which left Weimer on the ground. Jake was able to remount injury free and crossed the finish line in 11th place for the evening. Jake is looking good with a third place for the series points!
Teammate Ryan Villopoto also had some bad luck after a red flag was drawn for some down riders in the first main event.
Once the gate was reloaded and dropped once again RV tangled with some downed riders on the first lap putting him in last place. RV turned up the heat and raced to a solid 4th place finish just outside of the podium.. Ryan said that he will be focusing on start's this week adn looks forward to racing in Oakland adn showing his fans that he deserves to be on the podium!

Vans Monster Energy Kawasaki's Jake Weimer takes his first 450 supercross podium in Phoenix, AZ this past weekend! Weimer was off to a great start winning his heat race with ease securing him with a good gate pick for the evenings main event that he would finish the race in second place overall!
Vans Teammate Ryan Villopoto had a bad jump out of the nights main event and tangled with a down rider in the first lap, by the time that Villopoto remounted his motorcycle he was in 18th position. With a long 19 laps in ahead of him he was able to make a pass for 3rd place on the last lap with still maintaining the series points lead in premier 450 class!

Vans Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jake Weimer takes 3rd place overall this past weekend at the Bercy Supercross held at the ‘Palais Omnisport’ in the heart of Paris has delivered an exciting, action packed, weekend of racing and drama. Vans rider Jake Weimer made his first Bercy appearance in front of a sell out Parisian crowd and it was Weimer who would come away with a podium result at the end of the 3 night show!!
Jake had a solid ride in Friday nights race finishing second place showing that he had the speed to be a top canidate to be the "KING OF BERCY" but a crash in Saturday's event would have Weimer in a DNF position.
Things turned around for the best for Jake the 3rd and final evening landing him in 2nd place with a score of 16 points giving him 3rd place for the event!

Vans Monster Energy Kawasaki athlete Ryan Villopoto killed it in this past weekend's big money race, "The Monster Energy Cup" and took home the whopping $1 million dollar purse that was out for grabs after dominating all three main event races! Ryan's starts were on point as he was able to knab two out of three starts in each main the third and final main he had some pressure once the gate dropped. Mike Allesi was the one that jump out front, but RV was right on his rear fender holding it wide open to make a pass in one of the tracks back sections. Villopoto lead the rest of the main event with a twelve second lead over second place and cruised to the checkered flag for his Million Dollar pay check!

Vans Athletes Ryan Villopoto and Blake Baggett help win MXON title for Team USA

Vans Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto and VANS Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett both earned victories for Team USA in their respective classes during the Saturday qualifying races at the Motocross of Nations (MXON) at Circuit du Puy de Poursay in St. Jean-D’Angely, France.

“I was the last moto and the track had deteriorated pretty bad,” said Villopoto. “I knew with our 1-1 going into the third race we were in and my goal was to get out there and to get some track time"

After showing good speed during the 40-minute free practice session, Baggett was ready to prove he didn’t have any first-time jitters representing the USA against the best riders in the world. Although he is a rookie to the MXON, Baggett was clearly not letting the nerves get to him as he pulled the holeshot and led until the finish.

“I am really liking this track,” said Baggett. “It feels like home in California the way the dirt has been. It was great to get the holeshot because I haven’t been the best at starts at the past few races. I felt good the entire race and it really is getting me excited for the race on Sunday.

Vans Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto thrilled his hometown fans with a 450 class Moto 1 victory and eventually finished the day second overall with a 1-2 moto result. Teammate Jake Weimer charged in the first moto to come back from 36th to finish 15th and then improved during the second moto to finish eighth for 12th overall.

This marks Blakes fourth win of the season which pushed him into second in the point standings. VANS Monster Energy Pro Circuit Teammate and class points leader Dean Wilson once again put in a solid 2-2 ride for his fifth runner-up finish of the season. Helping sweep the podium, VANS Monster Energy Pro Circuit's Tyla Rattray worked his way through a tough first moto to comeback and finish third overall with a 5-3 moto result. Broc Tickle earned his third top-five finish of the season.

The fifth round of the AMA Motocross Championship also saw Vans Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto capture his third moto victory of the season in the 450 class as he finished second overall with a 1-2 moto result on the difficult Colorado track.

Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit athlete Dean Wilson's solid 2-2 finish in the 250 class pushed him to the top of the point standings over teammate Rattray, who finished the day fifth overall with a 5-5. After a solid Moto 1, Broc Tickle was forced to retire early in Moto 2 with a punctured radiator and finished the day 15th overall. His 250 class victory pushed him two more points in front of teammate Dean Wilson who captured his third podium finish with a 1-3 moto result for second overall. Once the gate dropped in the premier 450 main event rival Chad Reed was able to grab the holeshot from the rest of the pack, but Villopoto was right there and took the lead right away. The Indianapolis soil was a bit tricky all day causing the track to fall apart very quickly making for some very rough riding conditions this is where RV was able to capitalize on the rest of the field and lead all 20 laps of the 450 main event to the checkers! Villopoto takes back the points lead at Houston Supercross

Vans Moto Athlete Ryan Villopoto captures a hard fought Third place at the Houston Supercross race this past weekend as he was caught up in a first turn pile up right at the start of the main event. RV was fortunate enough that he didn't go down but by the time he was back on the main line of the track he was fourth to last place. Villopoto was able to charge all the way up to 3rd place as the checkers came out and reclaimed the series points lead again!

A great start to the East Coast Round for Lites Vans Moto Athlete Dean Wilson as he was able to end the evening on the podium with a second place finish! DeanO was excited to get the first race out of the way and is looking to improve for the next East Coast Lites race which will be Atlanta, GA..

Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit athlete Blake Baggett also had a great weekend with a solid 3rd place finish to his first East Lite Round of the season. Expect to see big things from the Pro Circuit race squad this season!

VANS Monster Energy Pro Circuit Athlete Josh Hansen had his work cut out for him over the weekend as there was a chance that he wasn't going to race, but with valuable points that would have been lost Hanny had no choice but to ride with his broken hand from a practice crash earlier in the day.. Hansen went on to take the evenings 250 Lites top podium spot with the win!! Teammate Broc Tickle just missed out on the podium with a fourth place.

VANS Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto went on to take his fourth podium of the season wrapping up the evening with a 2nd place finish on the podium in thepremier 450 class!! Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit athletes bring the heat to Oakland

The fourth round of the 2011 Monster Energy Supercross Series is in the books after being held in Oakland CA. Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit Athlete Broc Tickle was able to claim top honors in the Lites class followed by Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit teammate Josh Hansen taking the second spot on the podium!! This was Tickles second overall supercross Victory in his young career and is looking to take a few more in near future! Teammate Tyla Rattray was able to finish a respectful fifth place in the evening events! Hansen remains the Lites point leader with 88 series points while Tickle is only one point down in second place with 87 points!

Just before the nights 450 premier Supercross class took to the track fro the evenings main event Oakland skies where unable to keep the rain from falling causing conditions to take a change from the earlier heat race motos.. Vans Moto Athlete Ryan Villopoto was able to grab the main event holeshot and lead the 450 class until he lost his front wheel in a slick corner causing him to loose the lead while regaining in 7th position RV was able to work is way back up to fourth place almost getting into Third place before he once went down again on the slick track.. Villopoto crossed the finish line in fourth place for the evening event with only two points down from series leader James Stewart..

Stay tuned as the Vans Moto crew heads back to Anaheim Stadium this coming weekend February 5th 2011!!

Ryan Villopoto Wins 3rd round at Dodger Stadium

VANS Monster Energy Kawasaki athlete Ryan Villopoto raced to a hard-fought win at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles California's first Dodger Stadium supercross race. Villopoto came through the pack to finish with his second win of the season and extended his points lead he has held since the season opener. Ryan is looking to duplicate this past weekends performance next week in Oakland CA!

VANS Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Broc Tickle finished the Dodger Supercross Lites main event just off the podium in fourth place, while Teammate Josh Hansen used the 15 lap race to make his way up to 5th place while charging from a last place position, Tyla Rattray ended the night in 14th place. The Pro Circuit squad is hoping to be back on the box this coming weekend as they plan on working very hard this week at the Kawasaki test track!
