Blake Baggett overall's Hangtown MX Opener

Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit athlete Blake Baggett once again took advantage of the rough terrain that Hangtown MX provides, winning the opening round Lucas Oil Pro Motocross for the second year in a row. This year’s performance was even better than last year, earning a perfect 1-1 result in the 250 class. In the opening moto, Baggett started sixth and took his time making his way to the front. As the riders got the white flag, Baggett was in third and was able to pass both riders in front of him for the most impressive final lap seen in years. The second moto was a different story as Baggett took over the lead on the fifth lap and proceeded to gap the field, winning by nearly nine seconds.

Also in the 250 class, Vans Moto's newest athlete Ivan Tedesco made his return to the division for the first time since winning the 125 class title in 2005. He didn’t disappoint, ending the day just off the podium with a 6-5 moto result. Reigning champion Dean Wilson started out the first moto inside the top 10, but after his shoulder injury flared up again, he pulled in and made the difficult decision to get the necessary surgery needed to correct his injury.
