Vans Moto Athlete Blake Baggett Maintains 250 points lead in millville
The Spring Creek National in Millville, Minn. was host to round seven of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this past Saturday. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett holds on to the 250 points lead and the red plate for the seventh consecutive week, while teammate Broc Tickle continues to hold strong at fifth overall in the 450 class.
Baggett was on the hunt and, after an eighth place start, chased down the top seven and made some amazing passes to take the win in the first 250 moto. He was looking for a repeat victory in moto two, and it looked as if he was well on his way to another win after starting in the front of the pack, but a mid-race crash set him back to fourth. The 1-4 finish gave him third overall, and he currently leads the 250 class by 18 points.
Tickle charged his way into the top five during the first 450 moto, and was looking as if he would move even farther up the ranks, but finished 12th after a crash plagued his hopes for a podium finish. He came back with a vengeance in moto two and held strong to finish fifth. The 12-5 finish gave him sixth overall, and he holds on to fifth overall in 450 point standings.
